Chester Street – Newstead
From the same team that bought you Alfred and Constance, Chester Street is the Optimus Prime of small bars. Transforming from an Artisan bakery by day, into a funky small bar by night.
Owner Damian Griffiths says the genesis for Chester Street came from a recent trip to San Francisco – “I came across some great bakeries that were more like food stores. At night they transformed into a bar and restaurant. There’s also something really great about eating in a working bakery; it’s busy and bustling,”.
Inspired by this new found passion to make great sourdough with a satisfying depth of flavour, good crust and a moist, supple crumb – Chester Street was born.
By day, Chester Street offers a wide array of artisan baked goods (including baguettes, ciabattas, and focaccias) roasted coffee, homemade treats (cakes, slices)
Come sun down, Chester Street morphs into a full small bar, with a variety of wines, cocktails and craft beers. They also have a range of delicious, savoury wood-fired eats, and some awesome, not-so-wood fired, duck-fat chips with truffle salt.
On the weekend our Boozy Brunch steps in from 8am till 4pm where you can find yourself eating Nutella and Banana Buttermilk Pancakes whilst sipping on a Champagne Cocktail!
